The World Athletics has made clarifications on the clearance of Tobi Amusan of doping investigations.

According to the Athletics body, Amusan would only be allowed to participate and defend her title in the forthcoming World Athletics Championship scheduled to start next weekend in Budapest, Hungary.

Amusan was initially omitted by Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) in the team Nigeria list heading for Budapest, due to the doping investigation but was later included on the provisional list pending the outcome of the investigation by the Athletics Integrity Unit, (AIU)

However, in a statement released on Sunday, the world’s athletics’ Head of Communications, Nicole Jeffery said it didn’t clear Amusan of doping, saying that the responsibility rest with AIU.
