Well-known politicians have expressed their thoughts on the ongoing, weeks-long dispute in Rivers between Nyesom Wike and Sim Fubara.
Most of them have advocated for composure. Ipalibo Gogo Banigo, a senator serving the Rivers West Senatorial District since 2023 and Wike’s deputy governor of River State from 2015 to 2023, likened the situation of Wike and Fubara to that of a parent and son.
She believes that a conversation between the father and son is necessary.
She said that she thought it was a father-son issue in the NTA interview video that went viral online.
Since she is in favor of peaceful cohabitation in the state, she hoped that God would open the hearts of the Father and the Son, who are meant to be at peace with one another.
In her words, “I believe that the son himself can have a one-on-one conversation with his father, and the father, too, can accept the son and let them work together for the peace and progress of Rivers State.”
She identified Nyesom Wike as the father and Sim Fubara as the son in this context.
