Elders from Egbudu-Akah, an agrarian community in Aniocha South Local Government Area has expressed appreciation to the Chairman Aniocha South local government area, Pastor, Jude Chukwunwike for the renovation of the community’s Health centre.

The elders made the appreciation at the council headquarters, Ogwashi-uku during a courtesy call on the chairman of the council.

According to the Egbudu-Akah, elders led by Chief Paul Osahor, a retired Permanent Secretary, previous administrations had treated the community with levity and disdain, but noted that Chukwunwike changed the narrative and made them realize how important they are as a people.

“Your integrity has been proven to be what we can bank on. You have made our people proud again to be part of Aniocha South Local Government Area. In the past we were treated as people that don’t deserve anything good from their elected public servants but your administration has changed the ugly narrative”, the elders observed.

“You didn’t just promise us that the only Primary Healthcare Center in our community will be renovated, in less that three months you made it happen. We have come to thank you for being a talk and do chairman. We are indeed grateful”, Chief Osahor stated.

Receiving the delegation, Pastor Chukwunwike noted that the team is made up of persons he holds in high esteem.

“I see in you the passion for the redemption of Egbudu-Akah land. The promise I made wasn’t because of election. It was because I understand that the people were truly being marginalized and no right thinking person will marginalize a people and still expect them to keep giving their best. So I decided to do something differently.

“I practically, brought in persons from there to be part of my cabinet and by so doing made it known that I don’t like the fact that in the past the community was neglected. Now things have changed for the good of all of us,” the council chairman said.

Other members of delegation include prominent leaders in the community, Hon. Chief Tony Egbune, the home-based President, General of Egbudu-Akah Development Union, Mr Lawrence Okwuwe and Mr. Jet Ogor, the Youth president.
