Contrary to rumors making the rounds, the Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali today said no curfew has been declared in Okpanam Community, Asaba.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

The police image maker said the Okpanam community is calm.

He noted that the police have arrested two suspects in connection with the death of three policemen in the early hours of Sunday, July 24, 2022.

According to DSP Edafe, “The Command is closing up on the other members of the gang.”

Reacting to a rumour that a 6 a.m to 6 p.m. curfew had been declared in Okpanam with effect from Tuesday, July 26, to enable security agencies to carry out their job, Edafe said, “This is not only laughable but completely ridiculous and a lie put up by some mischievous persons to cause confusion among residents of the community.”
