The people of Emede Community in Isoko south local government area of Delta State on Monday protested against Federal University of Technology (FUTO), Owerri, Imo state for stalling their son, Mr. Philip Brain Otobha’s graduation since 2014.

The agrieved protester, mostly youths appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to compel FUTO to release Mr Otobha’s certificate and punish the two evil lecturers involved in the victimisation and extortion.

The protesters were armed with placards with various inscription such as FUTO stop victimisation it’s evil, FUTO release our son’s certificate, Williams Akhinbare what did you gain for stalling graduation.

Others are, FG, Senate pls compel FUTO to release Philip Brain certificate, Senate Committee we thank you, pls do more amongst others.

The victimised Student had petitioned Senate over victimisation and extortion by two lecturers of the institution in 2019 and first received attention on March, 2020 by the distinguish Senate committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition.

Protesters protested to the palace of His Royal Majesty of the community, HRM Johnson Egbo and were received by the Chairman, Council of Chiefs, Chief Solomon Agbada on behalf of the King.

Chief Agbada appealed to the Federal government to save their son from the trauma that FUTO has subjected him to.

Accoding to him, this is simple, first, is there evidence that Philip Otobha Brain was a student of the institution,? If yes, then comes another question, is there that he sat for those courses in controversy? If yes, then tender the answer script as demanded by the Senate Committee.

Also speaking, the President General of the community, Mr Eric Arerute urged the Federal government and ever reliable Senate Committee to do justice to the devilish victimisation of their son before he dies of depression.

The PG who was represented by his vice Chairman, Comrade Lucky Arumare thanked the Senate Committee on Ethics Privileges and Public Petition for their unbiased, fatherly and Godly role since they started handling the matter.

Meanwhile, the petitioner, Otobha appealed to the committee to call up the matter as usual before depression kills him, saying that he has no means of livelihood subjecting his family to untold hardship.

Mr. Otobha said that the Clerk of the committee has told him that FUTO has brought the scripts to the committee, “am thanking God for using Senate Committee to address my matter.

The petitioner said he has written a letter of reminder to the Senate Committee dated on 12 Jan. 2022 through his lawyer, M. A Ogbodogba to call up the matter again.

Mr Otobha, a student of project management technology department with registration number 20091700346, is accusing his lecturers of stalling his graduation since 2014 by deliberately failing him in some of the examination he sat for.
