The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential Campaign Council has accused the ruling All Progressives Council (APC), of clandestinely plotting to shift date of the 2023 election as scheduled.

The Spokesperson of the presidential Council and commissioner of Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, dropped the bomb shell today during a press conference to address some ugly development in the polity as the general election draws near.

He therefore, calls on well meaning party faithfuls to be wary of cronies of the APC, who would not want the election to hold as scheduled, while hiding under the guise of being concerned about the hardship experienced by Nigerians, due to scarcity of the Re-designed naira notes, to heat up the polity through fraudulent court injunction and other of thier actions.

According to Aniagwu, PDP is spiritually and physically ready for the election as scheduled, notwithstanding the scarcity of the Re-designed notes. “PDP is not relying on vote buying like the APC, but through the interface and constructive engagement of Nigerians in their nation wide campaign”

Mr Aniagwu, therefore warns that, any member of PDP who is in collaboration with those opposed to the cash swap policy of the federal government will not enjoy the support of the party.

However, the presidential campaign spokesperson also used the opportunity to appeal to the CBN to make the new notes available to Nigerians according its policy guidelines to cushion the hardship experienced by the populace.

Similarly, he also appealed to fellow Nigerians to be patient with the CBN as she intensifies effort towards that direction, adding that the PDP presidential Council is fully in support of effort made by CBN to trap illicit money which APC want to intercept to buy vote and compromise the election and defraud Nigerians of credible poll.

The PDP according to him supports PMBs effort to organise free and credible election between February 10 to March 11, 2023, the PDP supports February 10th deadline for the circulation and use of old naira notes, claiming that APC is already jittery that she has lost the election, and like a drowning man would hold on to any straw to stay afloat and urged Nigerians to ignore the injunction.
