The Oshimili South Local Government Area Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday inducted its campaign management committee and office to guarantee victory in the 2023 general elections.

Members of the campaign management committee were inaugurated by the PDP Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Area, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji at an enlarged gathering of party faithful and political support groups in Asaba.

Ogbueshi Okonji charged members of the campaign management committee to ensure that all candidates of the PDP, from the presidency to the Local Government levels, triumphed at the polls.

Remarking at the event, the candidate of the PDP to represent Oshimili South in the State House of Assembly, Barr Bridget Anyafulu, contended that the emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as President and Vice President respectively would benefit Oshimili South LGA and the entire state.

While also making a case for the PDP senatorial (Delta North) candidate, Hon Ned Nwoko, and the House of Representatives (Aniocha/Oshimili) flag-bearer, Hon Ndudi Elumelu, Anyafulu further appealed to all aggrieved persons to sheathe their swords and support the party to victory.

Similarly, the Odogwu (warlord) of Asaba, Obi Nwanze Oduah stressed that Oshimili South LGA would support the PDP as it had done since the inception of Nigeria’s fourth republic in 1999.

He emphasized the importance of the party to emerge victorious at all levels as it would allow a seamless formulation and implementation of policies and programs from the national to the grassroots.

Meanwhile, the deputy coordinator (media and publicity), Evng Ebielim Madumezia charged members of the committee not to take their appointments for granted as it was a privilege to serve and not an entitlement.

Other members of the committee include Hon Darlington Ijeh as coordinator, Hon Kelvin Ezenyili as Deputy Coordinator (Finance), Ngozi Nwabuonwu as Deputy Coordinator (Women Mobilization); Smart Meka as Deputy Coordinator (Youth Mobilization.

Present at the inauguration was the former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Peter Onwusanya; the current member representing the area in the State House of Assembly, Hon Shedrack Rapu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor, among other dignitaries.
