Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta and Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has commiserated with the Pere of Akugbene-Mein, S.P. Luke, Kalanama VIII, on the passing of his wife, Queen Gloria Kuroakegha Luke.

In a condolence message on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, Okowa said that the passing of Queen Luke was a great loss not just to the royal family but to the entire Akugbene-Mein and Ijaw nation.

He, however, urged the Pere, who is the 1st Vice Chairman of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, to be comforted in the axiom that “God gives life and takes it at His own will’’.

“I learnt of the passing of your beloved wife, Queen Gloria Kuroakegha Luke, with great shock.

“The passing of a loved one, as it is currently with you, no doubt brings sorrow to the immediate family and those whose lives the deceased touched in several ways.

“I, however, urge you and all affected by her demise to take solace in the fact that she lived an eventful and impactful life with her commendable service to God and humanity.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I condole with your Majesty, S.P. Luke, Kalanama VIII, on the passing of your beloved wife, Queen Gloria Kuroakegha Luke.

“Her death came as a huge shock to all of us, but I urge you and members of the royal family, and indeed, the entire Akugbene-Mein kingdom to take solace in the good life she lived.

“It is my prayer that God will grant you all the fortitude to bear this great loss,” Okowa stated.
