As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family savour the choice of the Delta State governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, as the Vice Presidential candidate of the party, Deltans have been called upon to brace up to the task of ensuring victory for the party in 2023.

The Chairman of PDP in Oshimili South Local Government Area, Delta State, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, made the call, while speaking to newsmen on the emergence of Senator Okowa as the running mate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate.

He contended that Senator Okowa deserved the slot, having served the party at various levels, with positive results, in addition to being an embodiment of good governance in Delta and Nigeria as a whole.

Okonji noted that the vice presidential candidate had endeared himself to the PDP leadership, party faithful and Nigerians, expressing the hope that Senator Okowa, as an ebullient politician, will be a catalyst to the success of the party in the general elections.

While commending Atiku for choosing Okowa, Okonji advised all PDP stakeholders in the state and South South zone to jettison antagonism and opposition, but to work towards ensuring that the party take over the mantle of leadership from the APC that had taken Nigeria several steps backward in terms of economic development.

He assured that the people of Oshimili South local government area were solidly behind the governor and will show commitment and support for the success of the party and Governor Okowa.
