The Chairman, Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike has assured that thenincoming administration of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oboreveori will sustain the Infrastructural and Human Capital Development as well as Wealth creation which were the signature accomplishments of the out going administration of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
Speaking on Monday shortly after delivering a Sienna car to the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) at Ogwashi-Uku, Chukwunwike said the incoming governor is adequately equiped on the programmes and policies that have driven the success of Okowa’s administration.
Chukwunwike, who also provided modern office equipment to the Finance and Treasury Department of the Council and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) said that Delta State Governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is going to build on the existing legacies.
According to Chukwunwike, when a leader grooms a successor, it becomes easy for the successor to ride on his predecessor’s successes.
“I know that Sheriff will do well because His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and leaders of our party painstakingly chose him having seen his qualities and management of the State House of Assembly as a Speaker without rancour. It is clear that he can do it excellently by the grace of God”.
Speaking further the council boss said that the car presented to NULGE is to help them move with ease as occasions demand.
“We made that commitment before the general elections but because we were not able to present it then, we had to shift it to today, May 8, 2023.
“We know this will help you to improve productivity and attend meetings as at when due. We also know that you do visit other local government areas. So, having asked of it, we decided to give it to you”, Chukwunwike said.
He urged the council staff to keep doing their best, stressing that the productivity of the council is a collective responsibility.
