Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Delta State has called on State governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, to do everything thing possible to assist the family of Dr Uyi Iluobe who was dastardly murdered in his clinic while carrying out his constitutional duties.

Dr Uyi, medical director of Olive Medical Centre Oghara Ethiope West Local Government Area, was murdered in his clinic by yet to be identified assailants.

The state executive of NMA, led by the state vice chairman, Dr Okwunze Anthony, on behalf of the State Chairman who was unavoidably absent which made the call in a press conference at NUJ centre, Asaba, however, expressed disappointment at the hasty conclusion by the Nigeria Police, that it is a cult related matter, without thorough investigation.

The NMA in their speech expressed is sadness at the gruesome murder of this budding skilful Doctor in the face of crippling brain drain in the country

On behalf of its National body and Delta State branch she charge security agencies to double their efforts in bringing the perpetrators to book and unravel the remote cause of the murder. She also called on her members to remain calm in the hope that the Nigeria Police will do the needful.
