The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, has congratulated Delta Governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on his victory at the March 18 governorship poll.
This is coming hours after INEC’s State Returning Officer, Prof. Georgewill Owunari, Vice Chancellor Rivers State University, announced in Asaba Collation Center that Sheriff Oborevwori polled 360,234 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who scored 240,229.
In a press statement issued by the media officer to the council boss, he noted that the gubernatorial election and its outcome go further to show that God Almighty still rules in the affairs of man.
He noted that the general and gubernatorial elections are one of the most competitive since the era of military rule.
According to him, God’s mercies and the unflinching confidence of the people made the victory possible as against financial inducement.
“Congratulations, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on your victory at the poll. You emerged winner in Delta’s most contested gubernatorial elections because God showed mercy and the people themselves trooped out to demonstrate their unflinching confidence in you.
“Your days of little beginning and the consistency of character that defines your capacity is no doubt at the basis for the massive youth support that your candidacy attracted. Our great party is proud of you.
I, on behalf of the good people of Aniocha South is equally proud of you. Please, do not neglect the versatility of the local content that the people admire in you.
“Live and govern Delta State in such a way that citizens will find the practical proof that humility exalts and that when exaltation comes, humility becomes more significant
I pray that God Almighty will prosper Delta under your watch. May He grant you the wisdom and ability to work with the right people who will expedite the actualisation of the M.O.R.E. agenda”, Chukwunwike added.
