Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has approved the appointment of Dr. Mininim J. Oseji as the new Head of Service of the state.

Oseji, who was until now the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, is set to take over from the outgoing Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, who will retire on March 29, 2025, after years of meritorious service. She will be officially sworn in on March 31, 2025.

A seasoned public health and community physician, Oseji brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She is the Medical Director of Berachah Community Clinic in Asaba, a part-time consultant at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, and the Executive Director of the Public Health Impact Research Centre, an NGO she founded in 2002.

Her leadership credentials extend to her tenure as the National President of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN).

Oseji’s contributions to healthcare policy and advocacy are recognized both locally and internationally. She has been a member of the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA) since 1998, where she currently chairs the MWIA Violence Against Women and Girls Special Interest Group.

Additionally, she is a longstanding member of the International AIDS Society (IAS) and serves as a reviewer for the Journal of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (J-MWAN).

Her appointment marks a significant step in Delta State’s commitment to strengthening its civil service leadership. The Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, who announced the appointment, described it as a strategic decision in line with Governor Oborevwori’s administration’s focus on professionalism and excellence in governance.
