The arrested suspected cultists as posted by Delta state Police command
It was the end of the road for three members of a cult group who were said to have been arrested while on a commercial motorcycle as they were found with a pistol and other items when they were searched by the operatives of the Delta State Police Command, the command announced on Friday, June 3.

The three young men, whose names were given as Destiny Ebibo, aged 22; George Terrence, aged 22 and Alex Ebube, aged 25, were said to have been intercepted by police operatives attached to Bomadi Division patrol team while on routine stop-and-search duty along Bomadi/ Oboro road.

It was gathered that the patrol team intercepted a motorcycle with three passengers. The team subjected them to a search during which one pistol was recovered from them. When a search was further conducted, a red beret which is a symbol of the Icelanders confraternity was also found in the pocket of one of the three young men.

According to a statement announcing the incident by the state police command through its Public Relations Officer (PRO), Bright Edafe, and posted on the Facebook wall of the command on Friday, following the discovery of the items on the young men, they were promptly arrested and taken to the station.

According to the statement, the young men had given useful information to the police operatives while they were also said to have disclosed that they were members of the Icelanders cult group.

The statement added that they would be prosecuted in the court of law at the conclusion of the investigation.
