Team Delta has added more gold to its medal haul in table tennis as the festival’s winds to a close Saturday.
The event which monitored by Ebipade Neketen and Ifeanyi Uwagwu, reports that the host led Ekiti State 6-1 after the first set before a team member from Ekiti retired as a result of injury.
Speaking after the game, Delta’s Oyinlomo Quadre said that as outdoor sports, the weather condition was not favourable to her athlete.
Quadre will face her team mate, Marylove Edwards today in the females singles finale.
Delta also won gold in the men’s doubles after it defeated Bayelsa State. Nasarawa won in the mixed doubles quarterfinals against Oyo in straight sets 6-2, 6-3
In the other matches, Kaduna beat Ogun in first male semi-finals, 6-2, 6-2, while Bayelsa defeated Kaduna in the second semis, 6-2, 7-5.
Delta won men javelin, while Stella Ayanleke also of Delta won 100 metre hurdles with personal best of 13.58 secs., Likewise Okonye Previous won the men’s 110m hurdles.
Delta also defeated Rivers in South-South in the women’s Volleyball semis, 3-1.
