Delta state Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, said the state governor, senator, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa will not accept blame for the poor state of federal roads in Delta state.

Mr Aniagwu made this clear today in Asaba, the state capital while briefing the press to disabuse the minds of wellmeaning Deltans on viral video of poor state of Uromi/Agbor federal roads, stating also that the overwhelming state of decay in federal infrastructure nation wide underscores the call for devolution of power.

Notwithstanding, the state government on its own has intervened in the past on this particular road and many other roads, while work is still on going on other federal roads in parts of the state in the interest of Deltans and challenged these, “mischief markers” to also make video of them viral.

The commissioner who also doubles as the presidential spokesperson for Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign said government is proud of its achievements on road infrastructure which is second to none in the country since 1999.

He also called on the federal government to give urgent attention to poor state of federal roads in the state to give the people a sense of belonging while the general public should be educated on the distinction between federal and state roads.
