The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon., Pastor, Jude Chukwunwike, on Saturday warned traders against doing business in a filthy environment.
Chukwunwike gave the warning while monitoring the July environmental sanitation exercise at Ogwashi-uku. The chairman was in company of the vice chairman, Hon. Amaka Adigwe, Aniocha South chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Political Matters to the Governor, Prince Mike Okwufulueze, councilors and other members of the environmental Health monitoring team.
Company and and private premises such as Steve Nnam Transport Company, Delta Line and lots of stalls along the main business district at Ogwashi-Uku that did not keep their bussines environment clean were sealed up for their during the exercise.
Garri and meat sections of the main market were also sealed.
The council boss also inspected the ongoing renovation at the Ogwashi-uku abattoir.
He said, “We are working to ensure that this place is renovated and upgraded with best practices and put machinery in place to ensure cleanliness at all times”. Photo of inspection.
