The Special Adviser to The Governor of Delta State, Hon. Kelly Penawou has commended the execitive Chsirman of Aniocha South Local Governmet Area, Pastor Jude Chukwunwike for his numerous accomplishment within his first year in office.
Hon. Penawou made the commendation during his visit to Aniocha South local government and described the projects as transformational.
The Special Adviser who described the Chairman as a goal getter also observed that tremendous changes have taken place at secretariat complex, “looking radiant compared to the last time I visited”,
He called on the Chairman to keep it up.
Hon Penawou said that his visit was to assess the projects and accomplishment of the council within his first year in office.
The chairman, Pastor Jude Chukwunwike thanked the special Adviser and his team for the vsisit said about 24 projects have been executed in Aniocha South Local Government Area under his watch as executive chairman.
Of these, according to him, include grading of earth roads linking various communities within the local government area, distribution of modern mowers to various primary schools, construction of five gates at Ogwashi-Uku market and construction of six rooms legislative offices at the Council Secretariat.
Others are the construction of modern
chapel at the Council Secretariat, as well as face lift of the entire Secretariat, renovation and reconstruction of its executive arm, installation of water tanks, toilet system and accessories at various points in the Council, distribution of modern computers to various departments, construction of city gates and resuscitation of weaving centre at Ubulu-Uku.
Within the period about 50 direct jobs were also created while hundreds of school bags and books were distributed to primary schools across the council area.
There is also face lift of Ogwashi-Uku main market, and the construction market stalls at Ubulu-uku main market, restoration of peace to the crisis ridden Nsukwa community among others.
The council boss also used the occasion to appreciate God for giving him the opportunity to serve his people and pledged to continue to work assiduously for the uplifting of the communities in the council area.
The Special Adviser was accompanied on the visit by a team of officials from the Directorate of Local Government Affairs.
