The Chairman of Aniocha South local government area, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike has called well meaning citizens to support the police in curbing insecurity in the country.
Hon Chukwunwike made the call during the presentation of one Hilux van to Ndukwa police division of the Nigerian police.
Presenting the key of the ash-coloured Sienna car to the Divisional Police Officer, the council boss said the move is geared towards enhancing police movement towards the security of residents of the area.
“My administration has been practical with issues bothering on security. We earlier donated a vehicle to Ubulu-Uku Vigilante and now we are presenting one to Nsukwa.
“Let me also urge well meaning citizens of the country to support the police in curbing insecurity. With this vehicle, we are encouraging you to do more in terms of giving your best to secure lives and properties of our people” the council boss asserted.
Receiving the vehicle, the DPO, Nsukwa Police Station, CSP Austin Oyas, thanked the chairman for the gesture. He promised to make judicious ues of the vehicle, which is to fight crime.
He said that with this car criminals in the area will have no hiding place as the police will smoke them out with the aide of this mobility.
“Thank you for donating this vehicle for the service of humanity. This is the first of its kind. This is the first time a council chairman is donating a vehicle to Nsukwa Police Division and it is marvellous to us”, he said.
