The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, was part of the cream of leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at a rally to celebrate the victory at the March 18 governorship and House of Assembly polls.
Other party leaders at the event held in Ubulu-Uku include the director general of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Rt. Hon. Joan Onyemaechi, who hosted the event in her country home, member-elect to represent Aniocha South in the state House of Assembly, Chief Dr. Isaac Anwuzia and the local council’s PDP chairman, Prince Mike Okwufulueze.
Others in attendance were councilors, leaders of youth and women groups as well as the rank and file of the party faithful.
Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, PDP ‘s gubernatorial flag bearer and Anwuzia both emerged victorious with Aniocha South playing a great role in giving both candidates a resounding victory
Speaking at the event, Chukwunwike expressed gratitude to God for a free, fair and credible election, noting that the poll was peaceful and free from unnecessary violence. He appreciated the people for their contributions in selecting a candidate highly qualified to robustly represent Aniocha South.
He called for unity and renewed commitment to providing quality service. According to him, God alone gives power and members should rally round the newly elected persons.
“In commemoration of the victory recorded by the PDP in the just concluded Governorship/State House of Assembly elections, I joined hands with our political lioness, Hon. Joan Onyemaechi – Ada Anioma, on her empowerment programme for business owners and artisans in Ubulu-Uku community”, Chukwunwike said.
“I will continue to support and promote such human capacity development initiatives among our people in Aniocha South LGA”, Chukwunwike said.
