Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has said that the Biennial Police Games was a powerful demonstration of the enduring values of the Nigeria Police.

Governor Oborevwori stated this on Saturday night at the closing ceremony of the 15th Biennial Police Games held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme Ph.D Oborevwori said,
“It is with immense pride and gratitude to God that I welcome all of you to the closing ceremony of the 15th Biennial Nigeria Police Games, Asaba 2026.
“Over the past week, the Stephen Keshi Stadium and other venues across Delta State have been vibrant with competition, camaraderie, and excellence.
“What we have witnessed goes far beyond sports, it is a powerful demonstration of discipline, dignity, and dedication, the enduring values of the Nigeria Police.
“As host governor, I am proud that Delta State provided the platform for this remarkable gathering.
“These Games have shown that beyond the badge, our officers are men and women of talent, resilience, and passion, guardians of law and order, and ambassadors of sporting excellence.
“To our athletes,: you competed with courage, integrity, and sportsmanship.
“Whether you return home with medals or not, you have earned the admiration of the nation.
“To the organizers, officials, and volunteers: your tireless efforts made this festival of sports a resounding success.
“You have demonstrated that teamwork and commitment can deliver events that inspire pride and strengthen unity.
“I extend sincere appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his leadership in sustaining this proud tradition.
“The theme, Beyond the Badge: Excellence in Action, has truly come alive here in Asaba.
” As this edition draws to a close, let us carry forward its lessons: discipline builds character, unity strengthens purpose, and excellence demands dedication.
” Delta State remains steadfast in supporting sports as a vehicle for fitness, youth development, peace, unity, and national progress.
“Let us celebrate the victories, cherish the friendships, and look ahead with confidence to an even greater edition.
In his address the Inspector General of Police , Kayode Egbetokun, appreciated
Delta State for hosting 2026 BIPOGA edition with exceptional organization and hospitality .
Egbtetokun said, “Delta State has once again demonstrated its capacity to host events of national importance.
“By BIPOGA Asaba 2026, Asaba has became a theater of excellence where discipline met determination and preparation met opportunity.”
Also speaking the Chairman of the Force Sports Planning Committee for the 15th Biennial Police (BIPOGA), AIG Fom Pam Joseph, commended Sheriff Oborevwori for his sustained cordial relationship with
the Nigeria Police Force.
He praised the governor’s consistent support, stating, “Your generous support for BIPOGA demonstrates your strong determination to build a vibrant sporting nation.”
Joseph noted that the 2026 Police Games would be impactful and memorable, not only in the history of the police force but also for Delta State and the nation at large.

The BIPOGA Asaba 2026 concluded with Federal Headquarters (FHQ) emerging as overall champions, clinching first position with 238 medals. Lagos followed closely with 236 medals, while Yenogoa secured third place with 140 medals.
