The amiable Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon Pastor Jude Chukwunwike has visited Internally Displaced Persons, Monday, at Ewulu camp with relief materials to to ameliorate their plight caused by the ravaging flood.

“Men are helpers to men; the best way to get close to people is to be with them in times of despair, giving them hope that will enable them overcome their circumstances.

This was statement made of Pastor Chukwunwike on Monday while speaking with newsmen at the Ewulu IDP camp, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Recalling that the natural disaster made some people lose their homes and farms, the council boss assured them that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is on top of the situation to bring succour to the people.

“I feel your pain and that is why I chose to be here myself without having to send delegates. Our governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is doing a lot to make sure that the suffering of the people affected by this year’s flood is ameliorated.

“We are grateful to God that no life was lost. Since there is life, there is hope. This is a trying time but it’s not all gloomy. What this is teaching us is to always be proactive and learn to plan ahead, doing those things that support mutual well-being for every citizen”, Chukwunwike added.

He presented food items and other materials, including toiletries.

The council boss was in company of his wife, Mrs Ella Chukwunwike; vice chairman, Hon. Amaka Adigwe; councilors with other associates.
