Ogbe-Ukwuni and St. Patrick Quarters both in Ogwashi-Uku are simultaneously being worked on by the Chukwunwike-led administration in line with the agenda to make every road linking communities in the council passable.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, had earlier in a statement directed the Works Department to do everything possible to ensure that roads connecting towns and every community is in good shape.
Mr. Smart Monye, Youth President of Umuonicha-Umuiyese Quarters, a resident of St. Patrick’s Street, said that for over four years, residents had suffered untold hardship, unable to move or walk around all through the rainy season.
“This road has been bad for over four years. Whenever we approach the rainy season comes, we suffer. We are unable to move to pass the street, no car or motorcycle can pass through.
“It’s a thing of joy that the Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, has decided to work on the road. We are happy to see this happen. I pray God bless and continue to promote him”, Monye said.
