The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, on Tuesday received Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa during his visit to Internally Displaced Persons at Ewulu camp.
Ewulu camp is one of the 12 established (IDP) camps by Delta state government for persons displaced by the ravaging flood.
His Excellency who was accompanied by his wife, Dame Edith Okowa; Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Rt Hon. Joan Onyemaechi and Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Eng. Lawrence Ejiofor, urged the people to see the positive side of the natural disaster.
Addressing the people in the camp, Okowa pledged to provide every necessary material to make their stay at the camp as comfortable as possible. “I will always be there for you. Please stay positive because life needs your ability to think positive. I will be putting up a party for you people on Saturday.
He noted that flooding is a natural disaster but that government will do her best, going forward to ensure that it doesn’t have this devastating effect on our people again.
