The Anambra State Police Command has welcomed her new state Police Commissioner,CP, Nnaghe Obono Itam as its 34th Commissioner of Police.

The Commissioner assumed. office today, Monday, May 13, 2024 with his wealth of experience and dedication to his new role.

Born on February 12, 1965, in Yakkur Local Government Area of Cross River State, CP Itam began his career in law enforcement in 1992 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent at the Nigeria Police Academy Annex Kaduna. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Calabar and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Port Harcourt.

Throughout his distinguished career, CP Itam has served in various capacities across the country, including notable positions such as patrol and guard officer, Divisional Police Officer, Commanding Officer of a Police Mobile Force Squadron, and Director of Internal Affairs at the EFCC Headquarters, Abuja.

With specialized training in advanced detective techniques, tactical leadership, and service delivery, CP Itam is well-equipped to lead the Anambra State Police Command in its mission to combat crime and ensure the safety of lives and property.

He is committed to implementing proactive policing strategies and fostering community engagement to address security challenges in the state.

The new Commissioner of Police is not only dedicated to his profession but also finds fulfillment in conference presentations, farming, community services, leadership coaching, writing, and traveling as he is married with children.

CP Itam looks forward to working collaboratively with the general public to achieve peace and security in Anambra State.
