Advanced Development Solutions Initiatives ADSi Multi-purpose Co-operative Society Limited has organised its one-year anniversary and launching ceremony in Awka, Anambra State.

The Cooperative Society was registered under section 4 of the Nigerian Cooperative Society Act 98 of 2004 under section 5 (1) for the purpose of galvanizing credible partnership, functional effective networking and strategic investments.

In his remarks, Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Protocol, Mr Chinedu Nwoye, in his words stated that what the co-operative society was doing was in line with All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) manifesto.

He explained that Co-operative was about gathering together of people for common interest with mutual understanding. With APGA template he believed it will be taken to grassroots .

The Deputy Chief of Staff who Harped on love and sincerity among members advised partakers to return loan gotten for continuity and smooth running of the co-operative society. He advised people to network in order to achieve more help.

Delivering her lecture, the Vice President South East Institute of Co-operatives Professional of Nigeria, DCO Njikoka Lady Norah Egwuatu shared the views of Co-operative institutes in the state.

According to her, Co-operative was a strong organization where different enterprises like farmers, artisans, contribute their resources together with the view of making profit.

” It is also known as a business where people bring their reserves, substances to promote economy and sure way of living in the present Nigeria”.

“Those days we know nothing like poverty, the east were the leading leading Champions but later let go of it, then poverty increased, with our collective effort, we will push poverty away through Co-operative”.

Speaking further, Lady Egwuatu stressed that Co-operative society was the best place to invest ones money while calling on members to keep proper accounting records.

“Adequate inspection and official visit will help mitigate problems and increase confidence of members” she said.

Similarly, the Chairman of ADSi Multi-purpose Co-operative Society Limited, Dr. Ogochukwu Soludo in his address said the mission of ADSi was to promote the welfare, wellbeing and economic interest of members through strategic investment and equitable distribution of resources and support services like microcredit, thrift, savings and loan .

He however called for support by individuals joining the society as member and giving contributions to achieve its set goals.

Also speaking, Accountant General Dr. Chukwudi Okoli maintained that ADSi Co-operative remain a legal entity, independent of their own and government have no control over their money as they were not signatories to their account.

High point of the event was presentation of Humanitarian Service Award to Engr. Chito Onuzulike Assistant Director Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, Dr. Marcel Ofomata Chairman Amaecom Conglomerates Nigeria.

In attendance were The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, represented by the member representing Ihiala Two Constituency, Honourable Tony Iloh, Price Chinedu Nsofor and top government functionaries.
