A farmer, identified as 57 years old Obiazi Ayidu, has been murdered on his farm in Alisimie, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Obiazi, popularly known as Becko hailed from Alimokwe Community in Alisimie Agbor.
Mr. Ayidu, a father of four children, had gone to his farm to string his tubers of yam to his barn in his farmland when he was attacked and killed by unidentified assailants who made away with his motorcycle and phone.
A search party was organized and activated after he did not return from the farm ba dat after he left home.
It was learnt that his wife , on returning from Agbor metropolis where she had gone for regular medical treatment, alerted his family and friends after his phone consistently proved unreachable.
As the search party swung into action, his severely brutalized body was discovered in a bush near his farmland.
His body has been deposited in the mortuary of a hospital in Agbor, while investigations by the police are understood to be ongoing.
